Karthikeya Murthy is an Indian composer, singer-songwriter, music producer, and a BAFTA Breakthrough India Talent. With a strong background in Carnatic Classical music, as well as Western Classical Music. He took his first steps with K.Balachander's theatre show 'Oru Koodai Paasam' in 2009 and went on to work with acclaimed producer-singer Mr. S.P. Balasubrahmanyam and Mr. S.P. Charan, on the feature film Moone Moonu Varthai (2015) and also started working as a composer for TV shows like Tamil Kadavul Murugan (2017) and Vijay Sethupathi's Namma Ooru Hero (2018). For his music on the short film Sweetness (Thithippu), Karthikeya has won the 'Special Mention Original Score' at the Five Continents International Film Festival as well as 'Honorable Mention Original Score' at the South Film and Arts Academy Festival. In 2019, he received acclaim for his music in Madhumita Sundararaman's KD (a) Karuppudurai. Karthikeya is also passionate about social issues and composed and produced a song The End (2017) to create awareness about women & child sex trafficking. He is currently co-producing a documentary titled Thirumathi Nangai which is based on the first legal Transgender Marriage in Tamil Nadu. He has also composed music for the Amazon Prime Video's comedy reality series LOL: Enga Siri Paappom. His most recent release is the short film - Mouname Paarvayaai from the anthology series Putham Pudhu Kaalai: Vidiyaadha directed by Madhumita Sundararaman starring Joju George. He is currently composing for a few Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films and series.
