We have all the photos from night one of the 2024 Mama Awards, which took place in Los Angeles!

A bunch of stars hit the red carpet before performing on stage at the Mnet Asian Music Awards on Thursday night (November 21) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Nights two and three of the three-day extravaganza are taking place at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japana. The show will also be broadcast worldwide including global digital platforms.

During night one, we learned that Tws won Best Dance Performance – Male Group and Best New Male Artist while Illit won Best New Female Artist. Riize won Favorite Global Performer – Male. J.Y. Park received the Inspiring Achievement special award.

Along with the shift of animated movie Transformers One by one week in September this year, Paramount pushed the Aang Avatar animated movie from Oct. 10, 2025 to Jan. 30, 2026.

The Lauren Montgomery directed animated film stars the voice of Dave Bautista (this was made official at CinemaCon last week), Eric Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza. William Mata is co-director.

The big screen movie is based on Avatar: The Last Airbender which was created by Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko. Producers are Konietzko, Dante Dimartino, Latifa Ouaou and Maryann Garger.

The Last Airbender is big business: the new live-action Netflix series around the globe has clocked an estimated 60M views. M. Night Shyamalan’s only franchise movie in his canon is the live-action take of the Nickelodeon show which grossed close to $320M worldwide.

Paramount has delayed “Aang: The Last Airbender” to 2026 and moved “Transformers One” back by one week.

The animated “Avatar: The Last Airbender” spinoff was previously set for Oct. 10, 2025, and will now open on Jan. 20, 2026. Dave Bautista and Eric Nam are headlining the voice cast for the film, which is in development at Paramount and Nickelodeon Studios. Plot details haven’t been revealed, but Bautista will voice a villain character.

Lauren Montgomery, who worked on the original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” television show, is directing the project with William Mata. Series creators Michael Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko are serving as executive producers alongside Eric Coleman.

Elsewhere on Paramount’s release calendar, “Transformers One” will debut on Sept. 20, 2024, instead of Sept. 13. On its new date, the animated “Transformers” adventure will play in Imax and open in theaters on the same day as Universal and DreamWorks Animation’s “The Wild Robot.”

The move gets Transformers One further away from Beetlejuice Beetlejuice which is going to eat up the September box office. However, already on this weekend is DreamWorks Animation/Universal’s Wild Robot. Two big animated movies are certainly not going to live on the same weekend.

The release date change also comes in the wake of the great reception that Transformers One received out of CinemaCon last week. Late September has been a rich bed for family animated movies including Hotel Transylvania 2 ($48.2M opening), Hotel Transylvania ($42.5M opening) and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs ($34M opening).

Transformers One is among one of Paramount’s highest tested movies in the studio’s history.

Avatar: The Last Airbender has become somewhat of a hot topic lately. After the wildly successful Nickelodeon TV show took the world by storm, there was a disastrous attempt to create a live-action movie in the past. But more recently, Netflix tried and was in fact successful in bringing Aang and the gang into the live-action world through their latest series.

As part of its big CinemaCon Presentation this year, Paramount let loose a barrage of animated movie news, not the least of which was word that Dave Bautista and Eric Nam are aboard to lend their voices to what is currently titled Aang: The Last Airbender.

Yes, with interest perked back up in the franchise thanks to the Netflix live-action take, Paramount naturally wanted to offer an update about its animated film version. Alongside Bautista and Nam, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten and Roman Zaragoza are in the voice cast, while original animated Airbender series veteran Lauren Montgomery is directing. The film will be in cinemas October 2025.

Dave Bautista and Eric Nam are set to headline the voice cast for the upcoming “Avatar: The Last Airbender” movie in development at Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Studios. The film’s working title is “Aang: The Last Airbender.” The news was announced during Paramount’s slate presentation at CinemaCon.

The studios announced in June 2022 that three standalone “Avatar” animated films were in development. The 2025 film was the first to get a release date. Lauren Montgomery, who worked on the original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series, is directing the project, with original series creators Michael Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko executive producing alongside Eric Coleman. William Mata is co-directing.

Rihanna now has a host of blue pals to join her journey as Smurfette in the animated The Smurfs Movie for Paramount Pictures and Paramount Animation.

During the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon on Thursday, Paramount chief Brian Robbins announced that an all-star cast has been set for the film including Nick Offerman, Natasha Lyonne, Jp Karliak, Dan Levy, Amy Sedaris, Nick Kroll, James Corden, Octavia Spencer, Hannah Waddingham, Sandra Oh, Alex Winter, Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña with Kurt Russell and John Goodman. Sting took to the stage as the closing act for the second edition of the multi-genre music festival Lollapalooza India in Mumbai at the Mahalakshmi Race Course.

"It feels amazing to see independent artistes get the recognition they deserve. There has been an immense spike in non-Bollywood music consumption in India and with the momentum we have picked up currently, I have no doubt that in a few years we'll get to see several Indian independent acts topping the charts internationally," Armaan told Ians.

Comedy fans may think they know Phoebe Robinson, but, with her new Comedy Central series, she’s about to show off many new sides of herself, all while celebrating some of her famous friends’ special skills and hobbies.

Launching April 9 with two back-to-back episodes, “Doing the Most With Phoebe Robinson” is the multi-hyphenate’s take on a talk show — but instead of sitting down on plush couches for a few minutes of banter about her guest’s latest project, they’re taking their discussion out into the world, sometimes over a friendly archery competition, sometimes in a recording booth, sometimes while wine tasting and, in the premiere episode, on horseback.
