Cate Jones is an award-winning American multimedia artist working professionally across the US since 2014.
Born and raised in Lawton, Oklahoma (a city known for high crime, and an Army base) the youngest of five to a night shift nurse and a Vietnam vet turned computer teacher, as child she wrote/performed skits for her family, was an avid drawer, made magazines, participated in choir and drama, and was raised by her sister and Television (specifically the Turner Classic Movies channel, the films of Elia Kazan, and movies starring Doris Day/Rock Hudson/Paul Newman). She studied criminal justice at the University of Central Oklahoma before dropping out and joining the U.S. Air Force. She was enlisted six years and then worked as a civilian IT specialist at Lockheed Martin before signing with a commercial talent agent to act on camera in 2014 and has since been in over 50 films. Her first year in the business, she started studying Film at multiple universities with her GI Bill to become a better actor but in 2019, after taste frustrations, started writing and directing her own ultra low budget indie features. Her first film, "She's the Eldest" was featured in Variety Magazine for winning Best Feature at NewFilmmakers LA among others and was acquired by Glass House Distribution. Her second Feature "Chicken House" won Audience awards at deadCenter Film Festival, Sacramento Midnight Film Festival and Best Feature at Philly Unnamed Film Festival. In 2023, she formed the indie-rock band Lover Girl.
