Toby Sandeman
- Actor
Toby Sandeman is an English actor and double gold medalist who represented Great Britain in the 200m. He is also an international model, who's fashion career highlights include being the face of several Ralph Lauren campaigns, walking for Calvin Klein and shooting with Naomi Campbell for British Vogue magazine.
Born in Hammersmith, west London, Sandeman is of Jamaican and French-English descent. He moved to Barbados with his mother from the age of 4 to 15. At 11 years old, he was the youngest in the country to be knighted by the Governor General and receive the Barbados Bravery Medal for saving a father and two sons from drowning. Growing up in the islands there was little opportunity for him to explore his interest in acting but it remained a hidden desire throughout his athletic career.
In 2012, after retiring from athletics, he enrolled in a 2 year Meisner-based acting conservatory to pursue his childhood dream.
