Nikolai Paul has been living in Bern since birth. He combined his interest in films with an openness towards minorities. At the age of fifteen he wrote the screenplay Sans Papiers and produced the film together with Angus MacKenzie and Florian Seifert on the streets of Bern. The film has been released in 2017 and got nominated for the German Human Right Filmprice in 2018.
