David Roy(XIV)

Born in Geneva on May 11th to Michele Clerc de Blonay and Jean Brolliet, under
the sign of Taurus with a scorpion descendant, he is the youngest of 3 children with
2 older sisters Sophie and Laure. Raised in a protestant family he is the great
grandson of the the founder of the well established Swiss Estate Agents "Brolliet".
David studied in Geneva at the Catholic Institute of Florimont. He was also a border at The Champittet College in Lausanne and gained a french Baccalaureat as an independent student. As a young man he got involved in politics, representing the liberal party where he played different roles and was elected as municipal advisor of Geneva for 2 terms. Convinced of the importance of the role of culture in the city he supported contemporary art and helped create the Mamco museum of contemporary art. He sat on several institutional committees in Geneva.
After his Baccalaureat, he went to Washington where he gained a Bachelors degree in Political Science and International Business at the American University combined with a course at Georgetown University. He is a frequent visitor to the East coast of the USA, and loves Manhattan in particular.
On graduating David returned to Geneva to work in private banking, until his father's passing in October 1987. The following year he launched a PR company for top level luxury goods and press relations. He took over an events company where he became close friends with a leading figure in french show business, Eddie Barclay.
In 1995 he moved to Paris where he developed a new activity in film production for European films and joined a french/swiss production company which co -produced many films with Canal + including the first film of a french writer called "Thank You My Dog."
He began his career as an actor in french short movies and participated in several TV programs on different french channels ( TF1, FR2 and LCI) to speak about his passion as a contemporary art collector.
For his role of Melchior Sheperton in "The American Connection" (2017) he took classes at the Lee Strasberg School of Los Angeles.
