The Year in Pictures

Art Director in over 30 projects across fiction, advertising, and music videos, Raquel Troyano's most notable works include the co-productions of feature films such as Palestina (2018), Lalla Aicha (2019), Un largo viaje (2022), and La Boda (2024), as well as international series like The Glow and Darkness and Alerta (currently in post-production). She is currently the Director of the Master's in Art Direction for Film at "The Core" and is involved in the Spain-Mexico co-production of the biopic of the musical group Mago de Oz.

As a producer and director of both fiction and documentary projects, her work includes the award-winning short film La Paz de los Cementerios (2024) and the documentary Una Mañana Fría, which won Best National Feature Film at the 28th Madrid Festival, the Atresmedia-Ponle Freno Award, and the Medal of Merit from Spain's Ministry of the Interior, among others.

She is also the coordinator of the Madrid-PNR Film Festival and an expert in film labs and markets. With a degree in Art History and a Master's in Art Market and Audiovisual Production, she serves on the board of the Spanish Academy of Cinema as part of the Direction Commission and is vice president of the Plataforma Nuevos Realizadores.
