Jhojaddy Grissel Ramírez is a Afro-Panamanian director with Dominican roots. She studied Audiovisual Production and completed a Master's Degree in Direction and Staging at the Barcelona Film School (ECIB). Her career in cinema began in 2016 with the short film "Cuando Sobran las Palabras", which earned her the "La real de la leyenda" award in the best script category. During 2018 and 2019, she presented us with works such as "Skate, Amor y Odio", awarded for her script and editing, and "El Legado", awarded in both direction and script at the Panalandia Festival. She has worked on more than 7 feature films and has been part of the production in Panama of international projects such as "El Club de los Cantineros" and "Código Emperador".
In 2019, she founded IM Films, a production company focused on representing women in film. She collaborated with CIEPS and SENACYT in the documentary "Pioneras: De Maestras a científicas" and directed "Bitácora de cuarentena", awarded at the Cinema Fund in Panama. Currently, Jhojaddy is immersed in her latest project, "TWINHOOD."
