Maurice D. Proffit is an independent playwright and director based in the city of Chicago. Mr. Proffit is the founder and owner of "B-Side Productions", and independent entertainment company that focuses on creating an artistic platform for those artists that may not have solidified foundation to hone in and builds their craft. Mr. Proffit has been a product of the artistic entertainment scene for close to his entire 35 years living. He has been a playwright and director for the last 7 years, creating material for theaters such as "Gorilla Tango", "Black Ensemble Theatre", "Goodman Theatre", Skokie Theatre" and the "Schaumburg Prairie Center for the Arts". Maurice's mission is to not only continue to rise in the Chicago entertainment scene but most importantly help those as well that are looking for those same opportunities to embrace their absolute inner best, artistically.
