Prime Video has unveiled the premiere date of the anticipated Season 3 of hit Indian series “Mirzapur.”
Originally created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, the crime thriller is a saga of power, revenge, ambition, politics, betrayal, deceit and complex family dynamics set in the badlands of northern India. Season 3 is written by Apurva Dhar Badgaiyann, Avinash Singh Tomar, Avinash Singh and Vijay Narayan Verma.
“With Season 3, the stakes have gone notches higher and the canvas has become bigger,” Prime Video said in a statement. “However, the rules remain the same while all eyes are on the coveted throne in the fictional world of Mirzapur. There has been a change in the trajectory of stories presented in modern television shows and movies. As mentioned in my Shehar Lakhot review, many filmmakers have moved away from the Hindi heartland and are exploring other states. Punjab is one of the states that many writers and directors have been focusing on. Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab opened a Pandora’s box of stories, and there has been no end to it ever since.
Tabbar on SonyLIV broke all the records for being an out-of-the-box story, while Netflix originals Kohrra and Cat did not shy away from showcasing the gritty side of Punjab, the image if which was once dominated by beautiful farms and warm, welcoming people as per Yash Chopra films. Chamak, created and directed by Rohit Jugraj, is the story of an artist who comes back to Punjab from Canada only to uncover mysteries about his family.

Actor Ram Kapoor says he took cue from villains in the films of Coen Brothers while bringing alive his act as an assassin recently.
Kapoor essays the cold-hearted assassin Lovely Singh in the digital film, "Bahut Hua Samman". Among other quirky traits, he is seen wearing the same shirt all through the film.
"Lovely Singh is one of the most unique characters I have ever played. His Usp is he is unpredictable and will keep you guessing about his next move. He intentionally puzzles people before going in for the kill. I was blown away by the character and had to give this a nod," the actor said.
"The character wears the same costume throughout the movie, which is inspired by Javier Bardem's character in ‘No Country For Old Men'. Lovely Singh is an unpredictable assassin and heavily influenced by the Coen Brother villains. I had the best...

Actor Sanjay Mishra lived in an ashram in Varanasi for a month during a recent shoot, and recalls the experience as one worth cherishing.
Mishra had his experience of an ascetic lifestyle during the shoot of "Bahut Hua Samman", an upcoming satire that also features Raghav Juyal, Abhishek Chauhan, Ram Kapoor, Nidhi Singh and Namit Das.
"It is nearly impossible to describe Varanasi in words. It's a feeling that ties you to it. Whenever I get to visit the city, there's a part of me that I feel I have left behind," Mishra said.
He added: "During the shooting of 'Bahut Hua Samman', I visited this holy city with the cast and crew. Those days are truly unforgettable. Raghav, Abhishek and I stayed in an ashram for almost a month to enjoy the true vibe of the city. It was a cherishing experience," Mishra shared.
Mishra even cooked for his co-stars on the set.

Netflix‘s summer saw the arrival of splashy fantasy shows like Warrior Nun, Cursed and season 2 of The Umbrella Academy, while their original movies brought in huge viewing figures thanks to star-driven blockbusters such as Extraction, Spenser Confidential, The Old Guard and Project Power. But with the fall now upon us, it’s time to begin rolling out the more prestige dramas, as the streaming site looks to generate some awards buzz.
One of the most hotly-anticipated is Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7, which is exactly the sort of true-life ensemble drama that always plays well during this time of year. We’ve also got Mank coming soon, which is David Fincher’s first outing behind the camera since 2014’s Gone Girl.
Before all that, however, there’s The Devil All The Time, a star-studded, Southern-fried psychological thriller that just landed today. It features Tom Holland,...
