LeGrand was born and raised in Augusta, GA. He grew up admiring all things artistic but didn't find it to be a viable way to earn a living so upon graduating high school he enlisted in the Navy and served in Submarine communications until retiring.
While serving he began volunteering as a camera operator for a local media company, Olelo Community Media, in Honolulu, HI. This is when he decided that his next career would be in film and television. He started a production company called LuvThat Entertainment, LLC. that operates as the production house for all of his work.
The desire to gain a deeper understanding of the business lead him to enroll at Columbia College Hollywood, a private non-profit film school in Tarzana, CA. There LeGrand would write, direct and produce short films as well as First AD for many other student and indie films.
