With controversial novels such as, Regression, screenwriting was the logical transition into film for Rickey. His latest scripts were finalists in the highly respected, Cinequest Screenwriting Competition, Screencraft TV Pilot Script Competition and the Final Draft Big Break Script Contest. Rickey first delved into the trifecta of writing/producing/directing on the neo-noir, dark comedy short, 2 Minutes 2 Kill. The movie explored the murderous lengths Hollywood writers go to for a killer ending. The film was accepted into numerous film festivals and won Best Dark Comedy and Best Parody. Rickey went on to write and direct the hilarious and poignant web series, High Notes, where an awkward passenger driver finds life and love in the obscure underworld of karaoke. His first feature film, You're Hired!, a social satire on work place politics is available on Amazon, AppleTV and GooglePlay. The comedy centers around two millennials attempting to sabotage each other for a coveted promotion, after being convinced their Caucasian and African-American ethnicities will impact the CEO's decision. Little do they know a more villainous co-worker is willing to kill them both for her shot at the opportunity. Rickey is working on development for his new TV Pilot (Abbott Elementary x Hacks) and Feature Film (Back to the Future x The Big Lebowski).
