Krista Michelle McKinney was born Krista Pugh, in Fort Worth, Texas. She is known for film, Undone (2016). She began acting as a child, and enjoyed lead roles in theater into her twenties. She graduated with a bachelors in Broadcast Journalism, minor in English, from The University of Texas at Arlington. While studying for her degree, she worked in television news for CBS 11 and NBC 5 in Dallas/Fort Worth, where she wrote script for the news anchors. Krista started booking roles in short films and television. She is cast as Kathy Williams in a web series, Bellum Files.
She lives in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with her husband, and their smart young son. She is very grateful for the support her family gives her, in all endeavors, including acting. Krista comes from a family of actors and writers. Her mother, Suzanne, is wonderful woman who raised Krista on her own, while working hard and still finding time to write and teach. Her grandmother, Ann Barham Pugh, hosted her own television show for NBC in the 1950's, called the Ann Alden show. She was an actress, writer and producer in theater for many years. She also wrote the well-known children's books, the Diggy Armadillo series. Krista's maternal grandmother, Lucille Straley, wrote many stories, including a treasured family history. Krista's sister, Anna Davis, is the published author of Open Source, first in the Enhancement series; Anna is also mother of Krista's niece and nephew, in Texas. Krista's brother, Patrick Pugh, is a fiction writer and very talented artist. Her oldest brother, Devin Pugh, is a hard-working husband and father of three boys and one girl, who live in Washington.
