Luis Quijano is a Mexican filmmaker born in Mérida, Yucatán, currently based in Los Angeles. Since 2015, he has produced, written and directed narrative films and commercials both in Mexico and in the United States. He founded Balché Films, a film production company focused in telling culturally driven stories that explore fear, belief and social norms, commonly led by Latin-American characters within the horror genre.
In addition, he is an alumni of the Tomorrow's Filmmakers Today Fellowship presented by HBO & the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a recipient of the NALIP emerging content creator scholarship and he screened his latest released short film "Caminante, Caminante: La Leyenda del Huay Chivo" at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences for the "Hispanic & Latinx Cinema" event presented by New Filmmakers Los Angeles, among other film festivals around the world.
