The newest season of The Challenge: All Stars features the most unique cast so far, but some of their former castmates aren’t too impressed.
Recent remarks from Cory Wharton and Paulie Calafiore blasted many of the All Stars Rivals cast members after seeing them in action- or their inaction.
As of this writing, only two episodes of All Stars 5 have aired on MTV. Episode 2 featured a daily challenge involving heights.
Viewers have seen multiple cast members struggle to participate in those tasks, including OGs Katie Cooley and Darrell Taylor.
Therefore, it might not be surprising that Katie did not participate in the second All Stars Rivals daily.
However, the surprise for viewers was how many cast members participated in and completed that daily challenge.

With The Challenge: All Stars Rivals, viewers will see pairs of rival castmates from the show’s history competing to win the spinoff season.

Paulie Calafiore blasted The Challenge’s Karma Vote for its impact on the Battle of the Eras final.
According to the two-time MTV finalist, the Season 40 twist “slighted” one competitor in the finish and “tarnished” another’s win.
Competitors eliminated throughout the season participated in the Karma Vote. They gave each of the remaining cast members one to five points based on how they felt about them.
A one was the lowest score someone could give, while a five was the highest. These scores were factored into how competitors finished in the final standings.
During the final, Jordan Wiselely dominated on the men’s side. The Karma Vote didn’t matter as he won his fifth Challenge championship, but the women’s side featured a closer battle.
Jenny West finished atop the leaderboard, followed by Michele Fitzgerald. However, the Karma Vote dropped Michele to third, giving her $50,000 less prize money.

Cara Maria Sorbello is coming off her exciting return to The Challenge, with appearances in the All Stars 4 spin-off and MTV’s Battle For a New Champion and Battle of the Eras.
On All Stars 4, she feuded with her familiar rival, Laurel Stucky, and won several eliminations against top competitors to reach yet another final.
While she didn’t defeat Laurel in the final, she proved she’s still one of the show’s best competitors and joined the epic Season 40 cast.
Season 40 showed her impressive abilities, too, as Cara nearly became one of the eight finalists. However, former rival-turned-friend Tori Deal defeated her in a nighttime water elimination just before Tj Lavin’s final.
Cara is likely not done with the show just yet. She recently revealed who she would team up with if she returned for a “pairs” season.

Cara Maria Sorbello‘s dream of a fourth championship came to an end on Wednesday night’s episode of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras. The Era II veteran was taken out by Era III’s Tori Deal in an elimination that lasted nearly three hours, treading water in the ocean off the coast of the Philippines. It was the last elimination before the this season’s epic final.
“I’m stubborn and I just wanted to survive,” she tells Gold Derby. (Watch Cara Maria’s full exit interview above.) “I wanted to make it through and I wanted to get to that final. Everything happens the way it’s meant to and, at the end of the day, Tori just pulled it out. She had a great season and she definitely earned it.”
Throughout the grueling challenge, Cara Maria says they were being eaten alive by mysterious sea creatures.

As The Challenge: Battle of the Eras heats up on its way to the final, a rivalry between Johnny Bananas and his ex-girlfriend has also heated up.
The seven-time Challenge champion dated several of his reality TV co-stars, with Morgan Willett becoming his longest-lasting relationship from the show to real life.
However, a messy breakup arrived after Morgan confronted Bananas over cheating on her as a video surfaced online showing him getting cozy with another woman.
It appeared that Morgan had moved on after admitting it was a painful breakup, although she has alluded to her ex several times on her podcast.
That included her recently recalling that a particular ex caused some mayhem at her birthday party.
However, Bananas quickly refuted the claims, proving he was not responsible for what she claimed.

Zach Nichols called out former castmate Johnny Bananas with recent criticisms about how he plays The Challenge.
Zach and Bananas last appeared as castmates during the War of the Worlds 2 season, where Bananas was an early elimination due to Cara Maria Sorbello and Paulie Calafiore’s votes.
Meanwhile, Zach hung around until the end of the season, reaching the final as part of Team USA with Cara, Paulie, and several other castmates. They ultimately lost to a four-person Team UK.
Bananas is currently part of the epic 40-person cast for The Challenge: Battle of the Eras and has recently been featured in quite a bit of drama.
That included him warning castmate Michele Fitzgerald over her showmance with Devin Walker, which riled up Michele, Devin, and Tori Deal. It led to plenty of drama and game moves aimed at one another.

Zach Nichols knows about finding love on The Challenge, as he married castmate Jenna Nichols and is raising a family with her.
He’s also witnessed castmates form power couples and later break up due to relationship difficulties.
In his last appearance on MTV, he saw an epic proposal as Jordan Wiseley got down on one knee after winning an elimination to present Tori Deal with an engagement ring.
The couple remained engaged up until things unraveled during the Double Agents season. Despite that, they somehow remained amicable.
That allowed them to co-exist in several seasons after the breakup, including Ride or Dies and The Challenge: USA.
Both returned as part of Era 3 for The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, and even though the game changed from Era teams to everyone for themselves, Zach believes these two are “unstoppable.”

Several other Big Brother stars appeared on his team, including his good friend Kaycee Clark, former finalist Paulie Calafiore, and newcomer Kyland Young.

While The Challenge: Battle of the Eras initially featured 40 cast members, viewers saw Laurel Stucky involved in several dramas and storylines.
Although Laurel hasn’t participated in any showmances or physical altercations, she’s been the focus of attention due to her remarks and altercations with multiple castmates.
Among them are Era 1’s Darrell Taylor and her teammate, Cara Maria Sorbello, with whom Laurel had an intense confrontation.
According to cast members’ off-the-show comments, the episode’s final footage didn’t include much from that particular altercation. Despite The Challenge releasing other unaired footage, it remained hidden from fans.
Rumors indicate the argument may have involved some severe trauma brought up to rattle Cara Maria during the incident. That’s led to some of Laurel’s former Challenge castmates speaking out about her issues.

Horacio’s girlfriend, Nurys Mateo, blasted production over the unaired aspects of the elimination once the episode aired on MTV, which fueled the elimination debate.
In addition, Horacio commented in interviews and on his social media that he didn’t accept he lost the event due to what happened that fans didn’t see.

While the women’s elimination was close, there was a clear winner as Jenny sent Aneesa home from the game.
However, Derrick and Horacio’s elimination didn’t have as clear an outcome, as the footage presented a confusing finish that castmates and viewers were puzzled over.
In the end, host Tj Lavin declared that Derrick won the event after production reviewed the footage. Horacio seemed shocked, and immediately after the episode’s airing, his girlfriend, Nurys Mateo, called out production for lying about how it went.
Horacio also gave his side of the story, indicating he didn’t accept the final decision. Jordan recently...

Nurys Mateo nearly didn’t return to compete on The Challenge: Battle of the Eras following a rough Season 39.
In Battle For a New Champion, she found herself in challenging circumstances due to her relationship with her boyfriend, Horacio Gutierrez, which caused friction with potential allies.
That led to a surprising vote situation from someone she considered her friend and multiple elimination appearances for Nurys just before the final.
She defied the odds to win two eliminations, sending four competitors home, to reach her first final on The Challenge.
The drama and physical exhaustion of participating in Season 39 left Nurys with a sour taste regarding a return to Battle of the Eras.
However, she revealed why she decided to return for another season soon after filming the Battle for a New Champion reunion.

The Challenge’s Paulie Calafiore reveals scary injuries from Season 40 elimination: ‘It was serious’
On The Challenge: Battle of the Eras, Paulie Calafiore faced one of his rivals from a previous season, Theo Campbell.
Both competitors were part of the Era 4 team, but since Theo finished last in the daily challenge for the Eras Invitational, he called out Paulie as who he wanted to face in the elimination.
Horacio Gutierrez and Michele Fitzgerald were the team’s first-place winners, and they gave Theo what he requested.
While Paulie was eager to return to the show and received a physical elimination, it didn’t quite go how he’d hoped.
The Era 4 teammates battled in what many cast members and viewers call a classic headbanger, Hall Brawl.
Theo, taller and heavier than Paulie, was able to seize victory from his opponent in the event quickly. Unfortunately for Paulie, he was eliminated from the season and received rough post-elimination injuries that took weeks of recovery.

The Challenge star Jordan Wiseley addresses ‘toxic’ castmate missing Season 40: ‘What has she done?’
The Challenge: Battle of the Eras features a stacked cast of 40 competitors from 39 seasons of MTV’s competition series, although fans believe there were some significant snubs.
Some prominent cast members that fans believe should’ve been included are former Challenge winners Wes Bergmann, Zach Nichols, and Ashley Mitchell.
Ashley, a two-time champion, last appeared on MTV in the Spies, Lies & Allies season.
However, her time on that installment was cut short by a sudden and mysterious disqualification from the show announced by host Tj Lavin over halfway through an episode.
Online rumors revealed that she had an unaired altercation with a castmate while filming and some of her remarks crossed the line. Other castmates later confirmed that.
In a recent video, three-time Challenge winner Jordan Wiseley blasted his former castmate, who fans mentioned isn’t part of Season 40, with the star-studded cast.

Hall Brawl is back, and it’s claimed its first set of victims on The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras. On Wednesday’s (August 21) episode, almost half of the contestants across all four eras had to go into the arena to duke it out for the chance to stay in the castle. And while there were three other games in play — Pole Wrestle, Balls In, and Give Me Shelter — the group to draw the most fearsome elimination type was the one that’s probably the least familiar with that format: Era 4. From the youngest generation of vets, Theo Campbell and Nurys Mateo were automatically sent into the ring after they each placed last in the daily challenge, and things got pretty dramatic when it came to the vote-in. While Nurys hand-picked her opponent — opting for Olivia Kaiser, with whom she’d had some bad blood coming in — Paulie Calafiore...

As if there was ever really any question about who Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Laurel Stucky would send in when choosing between Cara Maria Sorbello and literally anyone else, well, this clip will put the matter to rest. This sneak peek at The Challenge 40: Battle of the Eras‘ next episode, titled “The Era Invitational, Part 2,” shows Cara Maria revealing to her beau Paulie Calafiore that she has been chosen for the elimination bout with fellow Era 2 veteran KellyAnne Judd. “Laurel finally decided it was time to bring us in a group upstairs and tell us when I was walking out the door,” Cara Maria explains in the clip. “She was like, ‘I’m ready. We can bring everybody together, and I’ll tell you.’ And I was like, ‘You can tell me now or don’t. ‘Cause I’m going to the pool. I don’t give a f***.’ I was like,...

Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat is among the notable absences from The Challenge: Battle of the Eras cast.
His absence is curious because he’s won more daily challenges and appeared in more seasons and finals than several other Era 4 team picks.
The male competitors chosen include former Big Brother stars Kyland Young, Paulie Calafiore, and Josh Martinez, along with Horacio Gutierrez and Theo Campbell.
While Paulie, Horacio, and Theo each appeared in at least one final, Fessy competed in three. However, Josh and Kyland have yet to reach a final.
During his Fessin Up Podcast, the former Big Brother houseguest addressed his absence from the Season 40 cast with his co-host.
However, Fessy seemed against replacing a certain member of the Era 4 team and defended him as a “safe bet” for the cast.

With The Challenge: Battle of the Eras premiere, viewers saw cast member reunions, new meetings, and renewed rivalries.
Some of the biggest feuds and rivalries came from the most recent Era teams, including Era 4.
The 10-person crew included friends-turned-rivals Olivia Kaiser and Nurys Mate.
Theo Campbell and Paulie Calafiore are also part of the crew.
In the first episode, host Tj Lavin unveiled a colossal twist: an early batch of eight eliminations, called the Era Invitational, would significantly reduce the cast.
Each squad would lose one man and one woman, based on the worst-performing competitors and whoever the daily challenge winners opted to send in against them.
That immediately set the stage for potential showdowns between the previously mentioned Era 4 stars.

Love her or hate her, Angela Murray just entered the “Big Brother” record books for quite an impressive accomplishment. The Season 26 firebrand is now the seventh person throughout the reality TV show’s history to win Head of Household twice during the first four weeks of gameplay. The last time this rare feat happened was during “BB18” with Paulie Calafiore, which means we’ve had eight seasons without a repeat Hoh within the first four weeks.
Prior to Angela and Paulie, there was Shelli Poole in “BB17,” Frankie Grande in “BB16,” Rachel Reilly in “BB13” and in “BB12,” Jessie Godderz in “BB11,” and Janelle Pierzina in “BB7.”

From the start, Amanda reiterates that she’ll never be able to like or be friends with Tori on or away from the show.

Cara Maria Sorbello revealed which of her castmates on MTV’s The Challenge bring the most “drama and entertainment.”
The two-time Challenge winner makes her return to MTV’s version of the competition show on Battle of the Eras.
Cara previously surfaced in Battle For a New Champion as a mercenary, appearing in just one episode for an elimination.
She then appeared in The Challenge: All Stars 4, where she was among OGs competing for prize money on the Paramount+ spinoff. Her return to competition featured several elimination wins and a runner-up finish at the final.
However, it feels like forever since she’s done an MTV season, having last appeared in War of the Worlds 2 with boyfriend Paulie Calafiore.

Fans of The Challenge seemed surprised to see Paulie Calafiore getting along with his rival castmate while at a major event.
During his several seasons of MTV’s competition series, viewers have seen Paulie in heated altercations and feuds with several castmates, including Theo Campbell, Josh Martinez, and Johnny Bananas.
During War of the Worlds 2, Paulie and his girlfriend Cara Maria Sorbello seemed unpopular with castmates due to their gameplay, which included targeting those who weren’t working to help them reach the final.
Among their biggest targets during the season was another power couple: Tori Deal and Jordan Wiseley.
However, Jordan and Tori overcame the odds to win eliminations and reach the final.
Based on Tori and Cara’s feud, viewers may have thought Paulie and Jordan weren’t amicable off the show, but that looks inaccurate now.

The season’s format involves four teams of 10 players each, divided by the eras of MTV’s The Challenge they are most associated with.
The former Big Brother star is part of a new promotional clip featuring several of his castmates from the upcoming season, known as Battle of the Eras.
Along with Josh is his Era 4 teammate, Olivia Kaiser, who reached the final in her rookie season with Horacio Gutierrez.
They’re seated with teammates Amanda Garcia and Tony Raines from Era 3 as they watch some of the biggest betrayals in The Challenge’s history.

The Challenge continues to introduce castmates who become romantic, whether dating one another during the filming or away from the show.
Among the couples that fans saw form are Leroy Garrett with Kam Williams, Zach Nichols with Jenna Compono, and Cara Maria Sorbello with Paulie Calafiore.
More recently, viewers saw castmates Horacio Gutierrez and Nurys Mateo explore a showmance on the show that led to a romantic relationship away from reality TV.
Former Survivor winner Michele Fitzgerald hasn’t had the best of luck on the show regarding men.
That included her discovering after MTV’s Season 39 that castmate Callum Izzard was exploring a showmance with her during filming, all while he had a girlfriend away from the show.
She also expressed interest in castmates Faysal “Fessy” Shafaat and Emanuel Neagu, neither of which worked out in her favor.
However, Michele may have finally found happiness with another castmate from The Challenge.

Have Cara Maria Sorbello and Paulie Calafiore officially broken up? Some fans of The Challenge are speculating about the couple’s situation following Cara’s recent update about a significant moment.
The two-time MTV competition winner recently returned for her first full season of The Challenge, albeit the spin-off, All Stars 4.
She came up short in her quest to win the show, as former friend-turned-rival Laurel Stucky won the season.
Their situation during the season played out in the episode footage, with Cara discovering things she hadn’t realized about Laurel during filming. Due to that, she said she no longer wanted anything to do with her castmate.
