Heimir Hallgrímsson
Heimir Hallgrimsson is a professional football manager and dentist. Born on the remote Westman Islands, Heimir played lower league football in Iceland for 21 years, while also working as the dentist for his home village. He has coached children's, women's and men's football at amateur levels in Iceland, working his way up through the ranks before becoming manager of ÍBV, one of the oldest teams in Iceland. His strong performances there attracted the attentions of the national team and after a spell as the assistant manager, he was appointed as a 'joint manager' of Iceland alongside Swedish coach Lars Lagerbäck. Together, the pair pulled off one of football's greatest ever shocks, knocking England out of Euro 2016. Heimir became sole manager of the Iceland team after that tournament - although he continues to practice dentistry.
