Barbara Limpe Candano is a Chinese-Filipino Creative Producer for Television based in Manila, Philippines. She aims to produce real, honest, and relevant stories about the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and the Chinese-Filipino experience. Through this, she hopes to empower the Filipino, Southeast Asian, and Chinese-Filipino narratives to strengthen her cultural communities, encourage collaboration, and gain representation in the global film and television industry.
As a producer, Barbara has comprehensive experience in the local and international television industry. Barbara holds the distinction of being one of the only full-fledged 2nd Assistant Directors in the Philippines to be trained in the international standard system of film and television production. From 2018-2019, she was a delegate to Manhattan Beach Studios Soundstage Training Program organized by ABS-CBN.
She has had seven years of local production experience for television as a Junior Production and Post-Production Coordinator for ABS-CBN Entertainment with several hit daytime and prime time drama series under her belt.
She was also the 2nd Assistant Director of Almost Paradise, the first U.S. Television series filmed and produced entirely in the Philippines. During this valuable experience, Barbara closely worked with and was mentored on the job by American Directors, American Producers, and Serbian Assistant Directors. In 2022, she participated in the Full Circle Fiction Lab as Producer of drama series project, "The Scam of Angels."
At present, Barbara is a Producer at the newly established ABS-CBN International Production Division based in Manila, Philippines.
