Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror and the calendar has flipped to December. That means (almost) all of late-night TV will be back on the air this week.
Last week, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Daily Show aired reruns every night. Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night with Seth Meyers ran an abbreviated schedule, leaving The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as the only show to produce new episodes all week.
Things get back to regularly scheduled programming on Monday, December 2. Every late-night TV show is expected to air new episodes with the exception of Late Night with Seth Meyers.
The NBC show has reruns planned beginning on Monday night. However, Seth Meyers and is team are expected to be back on Monday, December 9.

Second chances are precious and often compel us to catapult further than before. That’s the case with PlayThatBoiZay, the South Florida rapper who dropped his long-awaited VIP album in September. The heavily Kwes Darko-produced project is right on time not just because of its eerie, Spooky Szn-ready soundscapes, but also as it’s Zay’s first project since a May 2021 car accident that left him mentally and physically recovering for roughly nine months.

Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter is much more than a country album — it’s actually a tour through the Black roots of American music that manages to be both thematically rich and stuffed with indelible pop songs, in multiple genres. Kendrick Lamar’s virtuosic “Not Like Us,” meanwhile, completely transcends its status as a killing blow in the Lamar-Drake battle, packing in an astonishing amount of lyrical and musical density — and it’s somehow also the year’s most entertaining, endlessly replayable track.

Denzel Curry’s King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 serves as a sequel to the Miami rapper’s 2012 mixtape, which he recorded as a teen when he was part of the proto-SoundCloud-rap collective Raider Klan. Having long toyed with alter egos—King of the Mischievous South Vol. 1 is credited to “Raider Miyagi”—the new project finds him introducing another persona, the unabashedly boastful Big Ultra.
Vol. 2 looks back to the streets far more than Curry’s recent releases, like 2022’s Melt My Eyez See Your Future. On “Sked,” the rapper declares, “I don’t go to sleep without a glock by my bed/I don’t say no names ’cause them boys might be the feds.” The track buzzes with eerie synthesizer bass and drops almost everything but the drums during the verses.
Every track on Vol. 2 features at least one guest, reflecting a spirit of friendly competition. But while...

Sydney – Monday 6 November, 2023. The Sydney Opera House today announced two electrifying contemporary music events over summer with genre-raiding psych-rockers Unknown Mortal Orchestra making their Concert Hall debut on January 30, and alternative R&b star Steve Lacy performing two shows in-the-round on 31 January and 1 February 2024.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s (Umo) appearance follows the March release of their definitive fifth album, V – an exquisite collection of songs that evokes the 70s rock and 80s pop of frontman Ruban Nielson’s childhood, while exploring love, loss and his Hawaiian heritage. The album makes a strong case for itself as his sun-bleached masterpiece, earning a 4.5 star review from Uncut and a place on The Guardian’s ‘best albums of 2023 so far’ list.
Umo initially achieved runaway success following the covert release of an anonymously penned track, ‘Ffunny Ffriends’, on Band Camp (2011). They’d go on to release five albums over the next 12 years, each...

Umo initially achieved runaway success following the covert release of an anonymously penned track, ‘Ffunny Ffriends’, on Band Camp (2011). They’d go on to release five albums over the next 12 years, each...

Idles have announced their fifth studio album, Tangk. The LP is out February 16th via Partisan Records, and as a preview, they’ve shared “Dancer,” the lead single that features LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Nancy Whang on background vocals. Check it out below.
Idles drew from a wide swath of influences in making Tangk. The record was produced by the band’s guitarist Mark Bowen, as well as Radiohead’s go-to boardsman Nigel Godrich and Denzel Curry/Vince Staples collaborator Kenny Beats. A press release describes the project as more love-oriented than the post-punks’ previous efforts, which often dealt in political commentary.
“Tangk,” singer Joe Talbot said in a statement. “I needed love. So I made it. I gave love out to the world and it feels like magic. This is our album of gratitude and power. All love songs. All is love.”

It’s been a while since Ronny J has produced a Denzel Curry track, but the artists have linked up once again for the new song “Woo,” which you can listen to below.
Punctuated by quick-spit bars from the rapper, “Woo” rests on a catchy, tongue-in-cheek delivery from Curry that plays off the song’s title. “I walk in, them bitches go ‘Woo!'” he explains, before warning, in the same tone, “Don’t come around gang, we ain’t cool.”
“The ‘Woo’ session was good considering this is the first session Ronny J and I have done in years,” Curry revealed in a statement. “We brought in Chief Pound, who’s been an essential part of Ult from its conception and having PlayThatBoiZay on the record really shows the unity in Carol City.”

Zakiya Dalila Harris’ novel “The Other Black Girl” has hit the small screen in ten episodes filled with songs that support the story’s underlying message of compromising identity and Blackness in a majority-white workplace. Developed by Harris and Rashida Jones, who contributed the intro montage, to Episode 7 set to Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love,” the series crosses multiple genres from comedy to thriller and provides social commentary on how minority Poc employees compromise and navigate the social system of corporate America.
Set to Sza, TLC, Busta Rhymes, H.E.R., Janelle Monae and more, many scenes in the show become even stronger with the songs in the background. Co-showrunners Gus Hickey and Jordan Reddout left the ending open for a potential second season. The suspense and humor go hand in hand with the soundtrack for “The Other Black Girl.”

Denzel Curry has dropped a scorching new track titled “Sked,” featuring Atlanta rapper Kenny Mason. Stream the accompanying video, directed by Omar Jones, below.
Produced by Charlie Heat, “Sked” features a trunk-rattling beat that pairs well with Curry’s stark description of the paranoia that stems from his upbringing in Carol City, Florida. “I don’t go to sleep without a Glock by my bed,” he raps on the chorus. “I don’t say no names ’cause them boys might be the feds/ I’m about my family, God, business, and my bread.”
Following Curry’s lead, Mason fills his verse with colorful wordplay about guns. “Power Ranger Glock, bullets came in different colors,” he spits. “Bitch, the crib I’m in got more sticks than acupuncture/ Ain’t on safety, press to coverage, who in the fuck he think he pressin’?”

Earthgang have shared “Die Today,” the latest preview of their upcoming EP, Earthgang vs the Algorithm: Rip Human Art. The accompanying video features the duo of WowGr8 and Olu attending their own funeral, where fellow rapper Denzel Curry gives a bizarre eulogy.
Produced by Olu with Buddy Red, “Die Today” addresses fake love. Whereas Olu asks whether his partner would “cross the galaxy” to check on him, WowGr8 is more defiant, rapping, “They say the good die young, I’ma be the last remain/ Hate all you want, I can’t stop, I’m a force of nature.”
In the video, Earthgang imagine how their deaths would spark reactions from news outlets like Fox News and CNN, Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update, and social media. Thanks to all the attention, the song piles up streams and zooms to the top of the charts. At the funeral itself, Curry mocks...

Turns out the clip of “Blood on My Nikez” Denzel Curry shared last week wasn’t complete: today, the rapper has shared the full version of the single, featuring none other than Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J.
Juicy J jumps into “Blood on My Nikez” like a refined elder statesman. While Curry dons sneakers, J modifies the refrain with the quip, “Let me wipe the blood off my Louis boots.” From there, the horrorcore icon examines the modern rap game, spitting, “2023 and you know these n***** don’t scrap no more/ I keep it 19 like I’m Leonardo DiCaprio.”
“Blood on My Nikez” marks Curry’s first solo single of 2023. Earlier this year, he made an appearance on Armani White’s “Goated,” while his last proper album was 2022’s Melt My Eyez See Your Future. Meanwhile, Juicy J last contributed to the 2021 F9: The Fast Saga soundtrack after dropping The...

Denzel Curry is back with the new single “Blood on My Nikez,” his first track of 2023.
With production handled by Mathaius Young, Dilip, Otxhello, and Ambezza, “Blood on My Nikez” marks a return to Curry’s darker side. Over an ominous instrumental, he raps about his rise to greatness — even if there were some casualties along the way. But he’s learned to keep his brutal tendencies under wraps: “Leave a trail full of dead crooks/ Opposite of snakes, you’re the type to make the feds look,” he raps, cleaning the “blood off my Nikes” to hide the evidence.
The single arrives with an equally eerie music video to match, directed by Omar Jones. Watch it and stream the song below.
While “Blood on My Nikez” is Curry’s first single of the year as the main artist, he did lend an assist to Armani White back in January for “Goated.

Between whippets, comedian Eric André dished on the upcoming sixth season of The Eric André Show at SXSW — his chaotic, everything-and-the-kitchen-sink late-night talk show wherein he gleefully terrorizes celebrity guests and regular folks alike. Who can forget the time Lauren Conrad sprinted out of his studio after André started lapping up his own vomit? Or rapper T.I. bolting when confronted by a plethora of full-frontal male nudity?
“I realized the hard way that the more violent a prank is doesn’t mean it’s necessarily better,” André told Rolling Stone.

Denzel Curry is the latest artist to participate in Spotify’s Live at Electric Lady series. The rapper visited the eponymous studio to record a seven-song set comprising tracks from his recent album Melt My Eyez See Your Future, throwing in a cover of the 2000 Erykah Badu song “Didn’t Cha Know.”
It’s not often we hear Curry sing, but his vocals do “Didn’t Cha Know” justice, and the cover even features a guest appearance from a Badu collaborator, the R&b singer Bilal. The EP’s opening track is another cover, this one a rendition of Shogun’s “Lonely Man” (from the Japanese TV series Detective Story).
Elsewhere on the EP is a previously-unreleased track called “Endtroduction” that layers Curry’s distinctive, playfully-aggressive flow over a bold jazzy instrumental. The final four tracks are cuts from Melt My Eyez See Your Future: “Walkin’,” “Troubles,” “Angels,” and “X-Wing.

Philly rapper Armani White has teamed up with A$AP Ferg for “Silver Tooth,” the latest preview from his upcoming debut EP, Road to Casablanco. Stream it below.

White opens the bouncy track with a reference to the song’s title before joking about getting flashier jewelry: “I tell ’em, ‘Send a watch that I could fit both wrists in.'” On his verse, Ferg follows up by rapping, “Walk around like I’m Nigo with the diamonds in the clock/ Moonwalkin’ on these hoes, I got diamonds in my socks.”

I’m starting to get a bit worried for Eric André’s health. We’re huddled together at a bar in Austin, Texas, during SXSW, where the gonzo comedian typically holds court, and he’s sucked in about a half-dozen whip-its thus far, laughing maniacally and locking eyes with me each time his big, blue balloon fills with nitrous oxide. It feels like a test of my equanimity; like I’m one of the guests on his hilariously demented Adult Swim series The Eric André Show that he delights in startling.

Westside Boogie is objectively cool. Before you even consider the unmistakable voice or the slow beats-driven songs, the Compton-born rapper is the rare case of someone who completely turned his life around after once being part of a gang. These days, he makes it a point through his music to set an example for other young Black men that it’s good to embrace your emotions and be vulnerable. (He tries to make the same point in person to neighbors whenever he goes back home.) But no matter how much...

Baz Luhrmann’s “Elvis” is now streaming on HBO Max, complete with a star-studded cast, glittery and glamorous sets and a flamboyant soundtrack to match. Austin Butler, who stars as the King of Rock and Roll, sang quite a few Elvis songs himself (mixed with the vocals of The King himself).

The soundtrack features a number of contemporary artists incorporating various Elvis songs into new work, such as like Swae Lee and Dilpo sampling “That’s All Right” for their new song “Tupelo Shuffle” and CeeLo Green and Eminem using the opening of “Jailhouse Rock” in their “The King and I.” Kacey Musgraves lays her velvety voice over “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and Stevie Nicks and Chris Isaak sing “Cotton Candy Land.” Still other artists like Doja Cat came up with songs like “Vegas,...

Produced by Jay Versace and Dot Da Genius, “On God” begins with a grandiose flourish but settles into a groove that’s still propulsive, but also subtle and unsettling in its own ways. Meechy Darko and Freddie Gibbs trade sprawling, heavy, and brutally honest verses on the five-minute track, while A-Trak arrives at the end to show off his signature scratching skills.

Cole Bennett spent the first half of this year living out some of his biggest dreams: meeting and hanging out with one of his heroes, Love f.k.a. Diddy, shooting a new video with Kid Cudi, Denzel Curry, and Jid, and drawing more than 90,000 people to Chicago’s West Side for the 2022 Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash, a festival he co-founded. Now, on the heels of the Illumination film Minions: The Rise of Gru, the 26-year-old can add another accomplishment to his list: helping to create a viral hit.

Denzel Curry appeared on The Tonight Show for a rousing performance of his song “Walkin.” The rapper was joined by Cold Blooded Soul for the hard-hitting number.
“I know sometimes that life gets hard sometimes,” Curry said right before jumping into the song. “But I wanna tell everybody in this crowd right now and everybody that’s watching at home, I just need y’all to listen to me and know…”
“Walkin” appears on Curry’s recent LP, Melt My Eyez See Your Future, which arrived in March via Loma Vista Recordings.
