- James Masten was born to parents Mark and Adel Masten in Berlin, Germany on American soil at an American military Hospital January 12th, 1984. He is second oldest of two siblings. He grew up in Northern Virginia and and still lives there to this day. He has always had an affinity for film and entertainment, growing up he loved to make small stop motion and short movies with an old Hi-8 camera. As a Homeschooled child from the age of 10, James would find alot of downtime and would occupy that time with books and stories of other worlds, drawing and writing. He always had a love a passion for art and creativity, His major passion was theater and film. He lived to go to the movies and became a bit of a cinephile by his late teens, and at the age of 20 he would work at a local movie theater that would begin his journey into music as a touring Heavy Metal Drummer in a band called "Cab Ride Home" producing two Albums.
This would solidify his love for the stage and the spotlight. In 2011, Shortly after separating from the band, James transitioned into theater at the age of 28 with his first acting role in a small local production of "Bang, Bang, You're Dead". His love for acting would quickly turn into a passion, he would go on to perform in several more shows over the next 8 years ranging from ensemble to lead roles and even writing, directing and producing his own stage productions. Some of these roles would earn him both Awards and Nominations. His roles included Kris Kringle in "Miracle on 34th St", Prince Eric in "Disney's The Little Mermaid: The Musical" And Mortimer Brewster in "Arsenic and Old Lace". Other notable shows were Casca in " William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar", and Linus van Pelt in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown". His passion would grow and he would soon find himself in front of the camera with small independent projects, which would lead him to meet the Director of a local fan project entitled "Voorhees". This project would soon blow up from a small short film project to an internationally anticipated feature length fan film.
