Garrett Avey, a Texas native, began acting in middle school, stealing the show as the Caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland. He continued his theatre career into high school where his first role in a drama won him 4 acting awards in Texas UIL Theatre competition. At the University of Texas at Austin, he transitioned to film acting and starred in numerous short films, including several that went on to be selected into festivals such as SXSW and the Austin Film Festival. He now resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Works on screenplays as often as he works on acting.

Represented Colleyville Heritage High School in UIL One Act Play competition in 2015 and won four acting awards to help take the play to State level competition in Austin, Texas.

Starred in a UT Thesis project (The Wilderness) that was accepted into the Austin Film Festival in 2018.

In high school, starred in a short film that was accepted into SXSW 2016. (The Third Floor).

Co-produced and starred in a short film that won the Dallas 24-hour film race in 2017 (Detective Max Danger).

Born as Philip Garrett Avey with the intention of him going by his middle name.
