Sean Joseph "Jo" Lesko was born on November 1, 1999 in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Red Deer and Edmonton to Amanda Josephine Lesko & Blaine Warren Lesko, a manager at NOV completions. At St. Oscar Romero High School, Sean was involved in sports, drama, improv, and school musicals. Sean attended Grant MacEwan University, where he majored in marketing and management. In his time at university, he never felt compelled to attend lectures whose material "[he] could learn twice as fast on [his] own," yet he's always been a "passionately curious" person, and loves to learn about anything that is from an inherently different perspective. He had owned and operated three different businesses during his time in university. All of which he left or closed down. He left university, one course-packed semester shy of graduating, to move to Vancouver, British Columbia. As he swings upward on the wings of success in the film world, Sean supports himself by bartending, landscaping, and capitalizing on just about any venture or business idea he can make work.
Sean's interests swing wide and deep, with the most notable being: reading, physical and mental health/wellness, martial arts, astrophysics, nuclear physics, sustainable/renewable energy, music, and poetry.
Sean's progress in his personal battles with ADHD, anxiety, and depression are no secret to anyone curious enough to ask. He hopes that if those with the space for it share their story it will help to normalize and destigmatize the sharing of our struggles, burdens, and traumas.
Mr. Lesko also spends a considerable amount of time researching solutions to many of our world's challenges, such as the energy and environmental crises. He is a strong proponent of nuclear energy in the world's path toward complete renewable energy;
"Our [energy] needs are only increasing, and the most efficient means of powering our modern world is electricity, which means we must begin to electrify every sector. Using nuclear energy as a stepping stone gives us the time needed to make complete renewable energy feasible. I...I don't think the fossil fuel industry sees the opportunities in developing nuclear subsidiaries, or the threat in not. That being said, I doubt I'm the first person to think of this, even in the non-renewable industries, but I have yet to see a logical argument against what I propose."
With his many irons in the fire, he plans to use his platform to inspire positive change in the causes he cares about. As his career builds, he looks forward to the day his calls for change are heard.
