Anita Harmon(I)

Anita Michelle Harmon was born in Long Beach, California, and was raised in Lathrop, MO, a small town north of Kansas City, MO. Her mother, Cindy Dodson Harmon and her father, Raymond Harmon encouraged her to do what made her happy. She discovered at a young age she enjoyed watching stories be told. She loved them so much she spent many hours in front of the television absorbed in every aspect of what was happening on screen. She always wanted to know what went into making those products. After graduating from Lathrop High School in 1990, Anita attended University of Central Missouri (formerly Central Missouri State University) where she received her degrees in Broadcast and Film and Business Administration with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems. After graduating she joined the financial firm Edward Jones as a systems programmer. In 2000, she joined the United States Navy Reserve and has served for nearly 18 years now. She has reached the rank of Chief Petty Officer and has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraq Freedom. She also received her Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Lindenwood University. After many years of going down a different path, Anita is now pursuing her dreams of becoming a film maker.
