“Severance” Season 2 will be remembered as one of the greatest moments of this planet. Over the weekend, Apple TV+ dropped a trailer for the long-awaited new season of its Emmy-winning sci-fi thriller, and if it’s an accurate reflection of what the season holds, it’s going to be a magnificent escalation of the series.
In the trailer, the “innies” of Lumon Industries go back to work after the game-changing events of the Season 1 finale, where they blew the whistle on the cruel conditions the people who have undergone the “severance” process live under inside of Lumon. They’re all trying to figure out what’s really going on inside and outside of Lumon, but “innie” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) has a particular goal: free Ms. Casey (Dichen Lachman) from inside of Lumon and return her to “outie” Mark, her husband who thinks she’s dead. Meanwhile, “outie” Mark is...

It's been almost three years since Dan Erickson's mind-splitting sci-fi series "Severance" blew audiences away and left them begging for more with a cliffhanger ending. Season 2 is finally almost here, and Apple TV+ has dropped a trailer that reveals some unexpected consequences of the rebellion.
"Severance" centers on a biotech company called Lumon Industries that has found an innovative new approach to work-life balance. Employees voluntarily have their minds divided into an "Outie," who experiences and remembers everything outside the office, and an "Innie," who only experiences and remembers life at work. For the Outies, it's a great deal: all their waking hours are leisure hours. But for the Innies, work is an inescapable prison.
Well, almost inescapable. At the end of "Severance" season 1, Mark S. (Adam Scott), Helly R. (Britt Lower), and Irving B. (John Turturro) were able to temporarily wake up on the outside, thanks to the diligent efforts of their coworker,...

Mark Scout’s two worlds start to collide in the trailer for “Severance” Season 2, which shows the Lumon employee searching for his dead wife — who, of course, is not actually dead.
“My outie’s wife died a few years ago. Except, the woman is Ms. Casey,” Mark (Adam Scott) tells his co-workers as they compare their brief experiences in the outside world. “We gotta get her out of here.”
Season 2 finds Mark, Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Irving (John Turturro) returning to Lumon after the so-called Overtime Contingency Protocol awakens their in-office selves outside of work. At the end of Season 1, Dylan learned he had a child, Irving suffered heartbreak after seeing Burt (Christopher Walken) is married, Helly discovered she is the daughter of Lumon’s CEO and Mark figured out his wife is alive — somewhere inside the office.

Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for the acclaimed sci-fi thriller’s sophomore run — which premieres Friday, Jan. 17 on the streamer — with Mark and his Lumon colleagues still feeling the effects of last season’s rebellion. Milchick gravely calls it “one of the most painful moments in the history of this company,” but he cheerfully tells them they’ve kick-started a new era of “severance reform,” with their revelations making headlines. So they’re not in trouble? Well, not so fast.

Apple TV+ has finally released the trailer for “Severance” Season 2, and we are so in(nie).
In “Severance,” Adam Scott’s Mark Scout (“Mark S.” at work) leads a team at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone an elective — but controversial — surgery that divides their memories between their work and personal lives. Basically, the Work You (your “Innie”) never exists outside of the office, and your home half (“Outtie”) never knows work. It’s kind of cool for the latter but an absolute torturous existence for the former. The series itself is top notch.
Toward the end of Season 1, Mark and his three close colleagues make some monumental discoveries about what may really being going on inside Lumon HQ. In Season 2, the coworkers “learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” per Apple TV+.

Nearly three years after the premiere of Season 1 Emmy-winning series “Severance,” the long-awaited Season 2 is finally almost here: The Apple TV+ series from executive producer and director Ben Stiller and writer and creator Dan Erickson from, returns on Jan. 17, 2025, just one month shy of the three-year mark.
“I’m excited that we finally are at this place,” Stiller told Vanity Fair about finally being able to unveil Season 2.
“It’s an interesting process making something like this second season because you now know there’s an audience there that cares. That has been in our minds the entire time: ‘Wow, people really are paying attention to these details.’ My hope is that, when they see this season, there’s an awareness that we’re trying to connect some dots and also leave some dots unconnected and put out some new dots to connect. But also, geez, the dot analogy…”

It’s almost time to clock in again with Severance — and Season 2 sounds like a rough day at the office.
In a wide-ranging interview with Vanity Fair, series creator and executive producer Dan Erickson gives us our first hints of what to expect from the new season of Apple TV+’s sci-fi thriller. “Things get darker,” he teases ominously. “We very much wanted to put our heroes in a scarier place because Season 1 ends with them poking the bear.” But “what happens when the bear pokes back?” In Season 2, we’ll learn that “the fallout is dire.”

Nearly two years after the show debuted, the wait for Severance‘s return is nearly over.
With Season 2 of the 7x Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ sci-fi series premiering Jan. 17, creator Dan Erickson and EP/director Ben Stiller explained that the Hollywood strikes were only partially to blame for the delays.
“It took a while to write season two,” Stiller recently told Vanity Fair. “Then we started to shoot in October of 2022, and we got shut down by the strike in May [2023]. At that point, we had completed about 7 of our 10 episodes, and then we had to regroup after the strike. It takes us a while to prep the show. And so, we didn’t start shooting until January [2024]. Ben Stiller knows that “Severance” Season 2 has taken much longer than fans hoped. Turns out, production began way back in 2022, but the world of Innies and Outies was put on pause due to a series of external factors.
Stiller, who directs five episodes of the second season and serves as an executive producer, told Vanity Fair that a majority of the season was completed before the strikes in 2023. Now, “Severance” Season 2 premieres January 17, 2025.

Severance fans have been suffering from a lack of new content for nearly three years now, but don’t worry, soon, even the show’s producers will be watching the same nine episodes over and over again.
When we last saw the workers of Lumon and the world of Severance — spoilers ahead for anyone who is inexplicably waiting until Ben Stiller and Adam Scott start a podcast together to begin watching their critically acclaimed thriller series — Mark S., Dylan G., Helly R. and Irving B. had just pulled off a daring escape into the world outside the secretive Lumon Industries complex and irreversibly punctured the delicate barrier between Innie and Outtie.
That was on April 8, 2022, and ever since that incredible cliffhanger, Severance has left its audience hanging, waiting for a new thread to pull on, begging AppleTV+ to proceed with a second season that will answer some of our questions and ask many more.

The one rule in the Silo everybody has to follow is not to say that someone wants to go outside because if they do they will be sent outside to die alone. Silo stars Rebecca Ferguson, Rashida Jones, David Oyelowo, Common, Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Avi Nash, and Rick Gomez. So, if you loved the thrilling mystery, dark dystopian world, and compelling...

Science fiction, drama, and psychological thriller are often genres that attract a wide range of audiences due to their mind-bending nature. However, Apple TV+’s television series, Severance, takes these elements to a whole new level. Created by Dan Erickson and directed by our favorite ‘museum night guard’ Ben Stiller, the psychological thriller stands out for its intense exploration of identity, free will, and the corporate world.

The story follows Mark Scout (portrayed by Adam Scott), an employee of Lumon Industries who undergoes a procedure called ‘severance.’ This complicated procedure divides the work and non-work memories of the employees, essentially creating two distinct selves: one who is referred to as ‘innie’ and only knows office life and the other called ‘outie.’ who apparently lives the rest of their life being oblivious to their day job.

Apple TV+ brought a new sci-fi psychological thriller show, Severance in 2022 which became a smash hit. The show featured a fictional corporation Lumon Industries where an employee Mark Scout (portrayed by Adam Scott) undergoes a shady memory transition.
The dystopian series created by Dan Erickson gained popularity because of its peculiar plot and stellar cast which included Patricia Arquette. Among news of the show’s new season fans should look at what The Act actress revealed earlier about her character. Harmony Cobel is a hard character to portray and Arquette thinks so too.
A character full of mysteries: The Unlikable one
Severance explored the experiences of Mark Scout as he tried to unravel the dark truth about his company, Lumon Industries. The character agreed to a sketchy severance program where his work memories were separated from his non-work ones in a horrifyingly permanent procedure.

In 2022's The Batman, John Turturro played mob boss Carmine Falcone. The Penguin, an excellent new spinoff series airing on HBO, follows Carmine's enforcer Oz and his daughter Sofia; Carmine himself featured in a flashback-heavy episode the other week, but this time he was played by Mark Strong. Turturro opted not to return for the role, and now we know why.
Part of it was that old chestnut: scheduling issues. “You can’t do everything you want to,” Turturro told Variety. That's the reason The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc gave when she was asked about Turturro's absence before the show had premiered. But Turturro kept going, saying there was another reason he didn't want to come back as Carmine: “I did what I wanted to with the role...In the show, there was a lot of violence towards women, and that’s not my thing.”

It's been well over two years since we last checked in on Mark (Adam Scott), Dylan (Zach Cherry), Irving (John Turturro), and Helly (Britt Lower), four "severed" workers toiling away in the basements of Lumen Industries, doing they know not what. For reasons we have yet to fully understand, the foursome underwent a procedure that made it so they remember nothing of their outside lives while at work, and vice versa. They've basically been split into two people: their work selves and their home selves, and their work selves have gotten pretty freaking tired of devoting the whole of their existance to labor.
The first season ended with a thrilling cliffhanger where the work personalities escaped into the real world, if only briefly. What happens next? Well, in the trailer, Mark S. finds himself back in the bowels of Lumen, racing through the eerily samey hallways until he bursts back...

Welcome back to Lumon.
After nearly three years, “Severance” is back with the first trailer for its highly anticipated Season 2, debuting on Apple TV+ on Jan. 17.
In the trailer, Adam Scott’s Mark S. returns to the office after exposing his “innie” to the outside world and learning that his wife (who he thought died in a car accident) is actually alive, and working at Lumon as the wellness counselor Ms. Casey.
After frantically dashing down those stark-white hallways, Mark enters his workspace to find three unfamiliar Lumon employees — sitting in the desks formerly occupied by Helly (Britt Lower), Irving (John Turturro) and Dylan (Zach Cherry). His delightfully creepy manager Milchick (Tramell Tillman) welcomes him back to the office with balloons adorned with Mark’s face.

It’s been over two years since the first season of Severance wrapped up, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the new season. We’re still a few months out from the premiere, but Severance creator Dan Erickson has already mapped out the future of the series, including a possible season 3.
While speaking with IndieWire, Severance writer and co-executive producer Mohamad El Masri teased the future of the series. “There was always a thinking ahead to future seasons,” El Masri said. “Even in Season 2, we were talking about, what is the end game and how does this show end? A lot of work was talking about that. I think there’s a natural overlap that happens, especially with the second season of a show, that you’ve got to keep [the momentum] going. “Severance” is likely already looking to Season 3 and beyond, even before its highly-anticipated second season has debuted. The critically acclaimed Apple TV+ series premiered in 2022, and picked up 14 Emmy nominations and two wins. It was renewed for a second season mere days before its Season 1 finale aired. While Season 2 is set for a January 17, 2025 release, a third season has not officially been greenlit.
However, series writer and Season 2 co-executive producer Mohamad El Masri recently told IndieWire while promoting his acclaimed Youtube short film “Other Other“ that series creator Dan Erickson and executive producer and director Ben Stiller have already “mapped out” the full arc of the sci-fi workplace drama.
“There was always a thinking ahead to future seasons,” El Masri of building out the world of “Severance.” “Even in Season 2, we were talking about, what is the end game and how does this show end? A lot of work was talking about that.

What will happen to Mark and other severed employees at Lumen now that they've journeyed into the "real" world? What exactly are they "refining" down in the depths of the mysterious company? What's the deal with those goats? Mysteries runneth over on Severance, but according to season 2 writer Mohamad El Masri, showrunner Dan Erickson is keeping everything straight in his head.
"He's not like the 'let's make this up as we go' guy," El Masri told us during an interview about his short film Other Other. "There is a method to the madness of everything you see on Severance, and he's thinking about it day and night. He's mapped it out in his head and he's going to tell you about it and...

Severance is a twisty, funny, creepy sci-fi show on Apple TV+ about a group of workers who voluntarily undergo a procedure where their work selves have no memory of what they do when they're outside the office, and vice versa. But what happens when their works selves develop personalities of their own and start to resent their outside selves — their "outies," in the parlance of the show — for putting them in this position? That was just one of several fascinating questions posed by the first season of Severance, which wrapped up back in April of 2022. Yes, we've been waiting over two years for season 2!
Happily, the wait is about to come to an end: Severance season 2 kicks off on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025, so a few months away. Ben Stiller, who is best known as an actor but who's also a director and executive producer on the show, knows they...

At long last, “Severance” Season 2 is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Jan. 17, 2025, nearly three years after the first season premiered. When the sci-fi workplace thriller returns, it is sure to resolve some of the cliffhangers that left fans buzzing after the Season 1 finale.
“I think it’ll be a really interesting second season,” John Turturro, who plays company man Irving, told Variety. “We are delving into the unknown that the audience is waiting for, and then doing it incrementally.”
For director and executive producer Ben Stiller, a three-year gap between seasons has them hoping these new episodes live up to fans’ lofty expectations.
“It’s an interesting experience,” he said of working on Season 2 of “Severance.” “I’ve never been through it before — a second season of anything. Everything I’ve done has gotten canceled back in the day. But, you know, I feel like there’s an...

Season Two will bring back the main cast
We are assuming that season two will pick up directly where the first concluded, which means Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette will reprise their roles. With multiple twists and reveals left at the conclusion of the first season, there is more than enough for all of these characters to explore. Good news: Apple TV+ has finally announced a premiere date for the second season of its critically-acclaimed sci-fi drama/thriller series, Severance. Bad News: We're going to be waiting quite a bit longer than expected to find out what happens after the events of that intense season 1 finale.
Despite initial reports indicating that the show would return to our screens before the end of the year, the streamer has revealed that Severance season 2 won't be with us until January 17, 2025 - almost three years since the first episodes aired.
If you're unfamiliar with the series, it's a blackly funny workplace satire with sci-fi elements, starring Adam Scott as a man named Mark Scout who has his brain "severed" in order to divide his memories between his work and personal life.
This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark and his colleagues find themselves at the centre of...
