Maddy Schwartz grew up in Jacksonville Oregon, a small mining town of 2,800 people. She learned how to edit videos at 10 years old and often forced her older brother, Peter, to act in her films. She moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to pursue film editing at Loyola Marymount University, and it was there that she learned to write screenplays and animate.
Upon earning her BA in Film Production, she moved to Dublin, Ireland, to become an editor.
