Al Ortega
- Actor
Al Ortega is a bilingual Colombian actor based in Los Angeles, California. Winner of the 'best supporting actor' category at the Hollywood blood horror festival 2023 January Award playing Gabe Montez next to Abigail Breslin, simultaneously with 'best acting ensemble' for the TV pilot 'The Cannibals' directed by Kim Hopkins.
From a very early age, Al always knew acting was his life path by becoming aware of feeling a genuine love, passion and extreme curiosity for people: their ways of speaking, behaving, expressing themselves is something Al always has felt a true fascination about, and his way to express this fascination and to celebrate these uniquenesses, was by playing imitations of them for fun -and many without even planning to do so-, they had just came naturally, and it always does, you just never know when it may hit! Al is a natural impersonator and performer who loves and lives to play others.
Al has a belief that playing characters -whether they're fictional or real people- is something that holds a bigger purpose because it is fulfilling in the heart; that purpose he's still figuring out, but keeps finding a piece of that answer by living it in the present moment while enjoying every single character, whether it's for a play, an audition, a scene for class or a film/TV character, feeling the joy of life.
Al has been involved in theater from his early years; from the high school theater group to a professional 3 year acting program after graduation, followed by 4 year filmmaking degree program of 'Direction and Production of Radio and Television' in college in Colombia. He the moved to Los Angeles, CA. and joined The Groundlings Theatre and School to be part of the 'Intro to Improv' workshop, the Hollywood Academy of Music and Arts (HAMA) and from 2019 is an active member of the Actors Workout Studio receiving Meisner Training alongside the 'Live in the Moment Acting Class' scene study which is also an active member.
Currently working on a developing pilot T.V. show and the pre-production of 2 feature films.
