Derek James Trapp was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on December 30th, 1992.
Derek began working in the film industry in 2017, and his first time on a film set was working as a background performer with Keanu Reeves on a movie called Siberia. Derek has been making a living in the film industry since then in 3 different film unions, and with his own company DJT CASTING.
He has experience in front of the camera as an actor, behind the scenes as a crew member, and has worked in the production office, worked from home casting for productions, and has experience doing voice acting, narrating and doing some stunts.
Derek is a full member of the following 3 unions- ACTRA, Directors Guild Of Canada and IATSE 856. He also has a vast amount of experience on non union productions, and his acting resume and crew resume show that Derek has expertise in numerous positions in the film industry.
Derek's daughter Everley was born in November, 2019 and after that day he landed the greatest role of his life as a father. From that day forward Derek's life changed forever, and he had a whole new reason to work hard in his film career!
Derek James Trapp officially created his own casting company in July, 2022 and named it DJT CASTING. This idea came after Derek completed working as the background casting director on the Crave TV series Little Bird.
Derek is represented by the talent agency Panache Management, and works as an actor/ voice actor when he is not casting.
His goal is to continue building his career in the film industry as an actor, voice actor and casting director, and to continue building his business DJT CASTING.
