Latin American Music Mogul and Film Director, Spiff TV, is making music history by fusing the Hip Hop and Hispanic markets and creating a new, groundbreaking sound. Born in New York City as Carlos Suarez, Spiff moved to Orlando when he was five years old. Spiff started getting into music once he was in high school, and by age 16, he found himself submerged in Hip Hop and Spanish music while carrying crates for Cuban artist DJ Nasty. In 2005, Spiff put together his first film, "Reggaeton Invasion," A raw and exciting documentary covering the lifestyles and performances of the hottest reggaeton artists at the time. Soon after, DJ Nasty introduced him to DJ Khaled, with the right connections Spiff took the industry by storm with his talent in directing and producing, becoming a "one-stop-shop" for major Hip Hop artists like Rick Ross, Diddy and French Montana. Spiff recalled to Latin Times in an interview that when he first started working with Rick Ross, he "would give him the music, the beats, direct the video and do the artwork all at the same time."
After showing the industry that he's a multi-facet maven, Rick Ross named Spiff Head of A&R for his record label, Maybach Music. Later in a joint venture, they started Maybach Productions. During his time with Maybach Music, Spiff found and discovered legendary producers Mike Will, Lex Luger, The Inkredbles, Yung Shawn, and The Mekanics. Spiff has worked with the biggest names in Hip Hop and Latin music, including Diddy, French Montana, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Future, Wale, Meek Mills, DJ Khaled, Yandel, Daddy Yankee, JBalvin, Anuel AA, Nicky Jam, Bad Bunny and SwizzBeatz just to name a few.
Multihyphenate Carlos "Spiff TV" Suarez most recently produced The Tax Collector, a gritty urban crime drama directed by David Ayer. He also contributed to the soundtrack production for Marvel's acclaimed 2018 animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse-written by Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman-alongside reggaeton star Anuel. As a director, Suarez has helmed numerous music videos, showcasing artists such as Drake, Rick Ross and French Montana. In 2020, he founded Averted Vision Pictures LLC with a clear mission: to develop a dynamic hub for film and television production.
