Doug once described his experience working as a Vehicle Allocation Manager for Porsche North America as "sitting behind a cubicle banging away at Microsoft Excel". He was responsible for all incoming orders of the Porsche 918 Spyder sent in by dealers. He quit his job there on January 2013.

Doug's first work following college graduation at the age of 21 was for Porsche North America, he had a 911 Carrera as company car. By the time he was 23, he had his sixth 911 company car.
