Cougars mother dated John Cougar Mellencamp in the early 80's. Though not Melloncamp's son, when Cougar arrived in 1999, mom decided to name him Cougar.
Cougar wrote an essay on actress Nichelle Nichols' career for his public speaking class when he was 14 years old. This essay led him to one day meeting her, 5 years later in Hollywood.
