Monika Cartagena (formerly Monika Tuncbilek) was born on July 31st 1988 in Los Angeles CA. She has resided in San Diego, CA her whole life. Together with her family she started a plumbing company at the age of 17 and finished her studies at San Diego State University in 2014. She holds a degree in Media and International Relations.
In 2016 she produced the film "Y Los Tamales?" with her Honduran company Sula Studios and won the best comedy award at the Latino film festival in Ohio. In 2018 she began her career as a singer and opened her label "Savage Crew Records" in California. Her second feature film, "Sambo Creek: El Regreso de La Llorona" is set to be released in October 2021.
