Tammy Ari (Tanya Ariaratnam) is a Los Angeles based, award-nominated music composer who has splashed notes against a wide spectrum of film, television, and advertising projects. Born in Australia and of Sri Lankan heritage, her deep roots as a classical pianist (studying under acclaimed concert pianist, Ronald Farren Price), coupled with her prior ventures as a songwriter-producer in the electronic music world, has culminated in an elixir of experiences that give her creations a unique sensory tone.
Ironically, Tammy's 'first gig' and foray into the motion picture space was when she got the opportunity to compose for Jimmy Barnes', My First Gig (Max Channel).
Since then, she has worked with globally renowned production houses such as Quincy Jones Productions, Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions, and has also collaborated with The DA's Office, Hyperballad Music, and Cleod9 Music.
To date, Tammy has accumulated a gamut of projects under her belt, including For Winter (National Geographic), Drug Lords: The Takedown (National Geographic), Tripped Up (Lunch Hour Productions), The Australian Wars (Blackfella Films), Moon Rock for Monday (Lunar Pictures), Stars on Mars (Eureka Productions), and many more.
With a passion for connecting creatives and harnessing music for innovation and social impact, Tammy founded composing house, Veirtu and non-profit production house, xPropelr.
In 2024, Tammy was nominated for a Hollywood Music In Media Award for writing, composing and producing "Dreaming Freedom" by xPropelr and featuring Grammy, Oscar, Emmy, BAFTA, and Aria award-winning artists such as Kris Bowers, Alex Isley, Izzy Bizu, Pedro Eustache, Snow Owl, Brandee Younger, ThatCelloGuy, Justin Kauflin, MB Gordy, Gary Pinto, Ben Ellingworth, and John DeFaria.
