After a fifteen year career as a research engineer Olly turned to acting to follow a life long obsession with film. Having worked in the electronics industry he has a strong technical interest and knowledge, and when not filming he is a keen overland motorcyclist and active rally competitor in Europe and North Africa.

Much like his personal hero Steve McQueen Olly loves motor sport and in particular desert racing motorcycles, he has also similarly used these skills on the screen. His grandfather is thought to be the earliest amateur film maker in Scotland.
