I am Dominic Stewart, a Brooklyn-based filmmaker dedicated to storytelling and creating impactful, thought-provoking narratives. My journey has been shaped by educational experiences and a lifelong curiosity, enabling me to bring a unique perspective to producing and managing a variety of film and video projects.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Morehouse College, where I first began writing, directing, and producing short films, and an MFA in Filmmaking from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, I produced several award-winning short films, including The Brother, the Witch, and the Landlord (winner of "Best Horror Short" at the Detroit Black Film Festival) and Leaving Yellowstone, which has received multiple awards and recognition on the festival circuit.
Since graduating, I've gained significant experience in documentary filmmaking, contributing to high-profile projects such as the Netflix docuseries Eat the Rich (associate editor), the Netflix documentary feature Power (additional editor), and Henry Louis Gates: The Fabric of America (lead editor). These roles have honed my technical expertise and storytelling abilities while deepening my understanding of crafting compelling narratives for large-scale productions.
I am committed to continual growth and staying at the forefront of industry advancements in technology and storytelling techniques. My passion lies in developing story-driven narratives that explore the diversity of human experiences.
