Over the weekend, the “Club Classics” queen herself, Charli Xcx, married longtime partner George Daniel — drummer for British rock band The 1975 — in what might’ve been the brattiest (and best-dressed) wedding of the century. The intimate ceremony took place at Hackney Town Hall in London, where Charli wore Vivienne Westwood’s Cora Nova Mini Dress, and George kept it effortlessly cool in a casual suit and button-up.

Levitation Reveals 2025 Lineup with Mastodon, Pavement, Acid Bath, and TV on the Radio
Image
The annual Austin festival Levitation has unveiled its initial 2025 lineup, and it’s a very cool one headlined by Mastodon, Pavement, Acid Bath, and TV on the Radio.

The 18th edition of the festival is set for the weekend of September 25th-28th, this time in a new location: the Palmer Events Center — a 75,000 square foot, two-stage complex located on the shores of Town Lake overlooking the Austin skyline. And in classic Levitation fashion, there will also be late-night shows taking place across venues in Downtown Austin.

Three-day passes and single-day tickets are available via Levitation’s website, with late-show tickets available separately.

Metal fans will at least want a ticket to Friday’s action, as its headlined by Mastodon and Acid Bath and features an all-heavy bill featuring reunited Atx stoner-metal heroes The Sword, Denver death metal stars Blood Incantation, Detroit ensemble The Armed, and more.

Saturday is more...

Image
“If you give me another chance, I’m probably gonna fuck it up anyway” — now that’s some admirable self-knowledge. The Toronto punk boys in Pup are veterans by now, going strong on their fifth album Who Will Look After the Dogs? Twelve years past their frantic, funny debut, they still crash through their tunes with frantic guitar overdrive, as Stefan Babcock’s snotty one-liners break out into brotherly dude-unison sing-alongs. But Pup are taking on tough adult emotions these days. Babcock speaks for us all when he asks the...

Hysteria! Cast & Character Guide
Image
Apart from walking viewers through some scares and a compelling coming-of-age drama, Hysteria also features memorable characters portrayed by a talented group of actors. Set during the Satanic Panic of the late 1980s, Hysteria is an entertaining addition to the horror/thriller genre, unfolding in a sleepy Michigan hamlet named Happy Hollow. What initially seems like a quaint town in the show's later turns out to be the home of a Satan-worshipping cult that is responsible for the disappearance of star high school quarterback Ryan Hudson.

While unfolding the chaos in the central town after Hudson's disappearance, Peacock's Hysteria presents a compelling set of character beats that keep viewers hooked throughout its runtime. The emotional impact of these character beats is further elevated by the brilliant performances of its cast members. Since Hysteria's cast plays a crucial role in making the drama more immersive and terrifying, many viewers might...

This Underrated Scooby-Doo Cartoon Is the Best in the Franchise
Image
A Pup Named Scooby-Doo was a unique and bold new take on the Scooby-Doo story. The show followed the gang as kids, solving hilarious crimes and discovering spooky monsters. While it wasnt a new idea to create a TV show about the younger versions of popular characters, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo absolutely succeeded where others fell short. It delivered a fun Saturday morning cartoon for all ages. The series expanded the formula into new territories, emulating what was some of the best cartoon comedy at the time. Fans still look back at the show as one of the best today. Not to mention, it has the best theme song in the entire franchise.

The show was able to preserve elements that made Scooby-Doo and the gang great, but also bring new ideas to the table that would stick with the franchise for decades to come. The franchise's formula is lovingly...

Image
There's good news for Scooby-Doo fans looking to relive some nostalgia from the late '80 and early '90s. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo is now streaming on Max, and the series turns what you know and love about the franchise on its head. Instead of featuring the Mystery Inc. crew in their adulthood, the show ages everyone down to their childhood. A Pup Named Scooby-Doo Release Date September 10, 1988Main Genre AnimationCast Don Messick, Casey Kasem, Carl Steven, Kellie Martin, Scott Menville Expand

The show ran for three seasons and had just 27 episodes total, but it became a cult classic that continued to air on channels such as Cartoon Network throughout the 2000s. Sadly, the show was Don Messick's last time voicing Scooby before passing away in 1997.

Image
Similar to its previous installments, The Boys season 4 has opened to a stellar critic score at the Tomatometer, as it’s currently sitting on a comfortable 95% with three episodes in. However, the audience score paints a different picture, as it registers the series’ first rotten audience score with 52%, which is a result of review-bombing from fans, who are stressing the show has gone woke.

This comes after the revelation of Frenchie’s sexuality. But creator Eric Kripke has set the record straight that the character’s queerness is not sudden.

Frenchie’s Queerness Has Been Alluded Many Times Before

A still from The Boys | Amazon Prime Video

While Frenchie’s relationship with Colin might come as shocking to some, for viewers who paid close attention to previous seasons, it should come as no surprise. In season 2, it was alluded that he is in an open relationship with Jay and Cherie,...

Pikmin 4: How to Upgrade Oatchi
Image
Oatchi is the lovable companion to players in Pikmin 4, and he's vital to progressing through the game as he helps support in areas where the Pikmin may be lacking. While Oatchi is great from the get go, he has plenty of potential in Pikmin 4, but in order to reach that potential, players will need to upgrade him.

In order to upgrade Oatchi, players will have to speak with a specific character, however, the upgrades won't come for free. Players will need to accrue Pup Drive which can then be spent on different Skill Upgrades for Oatchi, but only after the quick little dialogue where they reference that Oatchi has gotten bigger overnight.

How To Upgrade Oatchi

After making a point that Oatchi seems to have increased in size through the night, players will now be able to speak with Shepherd at the Rescue Command Post. Shepherd is where Pup Drive...

Palehound’s ‘Eye On the Bat’ Is An Intense Journey. You’ll Want to Ride Along
Image
The latest release from Palehound is one hell of a ride. The album was inspired by the “apocalypse road trip” across the U.S. that the indie Boston band took mid-tour to get safely back home as the pandemic hit in early 2020. The stress and tension of that moment informs the album, even when the song’s aren’t specifically about the pandemic. In a larger sense, the greatest adventure on Eye on the Bat is Palehound’s musical evolution: they’re sharper, punkier, and more fearless — roaring in the face of change.

Most of these projects have kept the core group of characters that fans love while also making sure to introduce dozens of new ones. And among the numerous protagonists and monsters, some come off as totally strange. This is either because of their motivations, arcs, designs, or mannerisms.

The Phantom Virus

The brutal and relentless Phantom Virus is a refreshing addition because he is one of the few villains that isn’t a person under a mask or costume. The anthropomorphic computer virus goes on a rampage after being created by Bill McLemore to help him sabotage the projects of his...
