- Catherine II was born on 2 May 1729 in Stettin, Pomerania, Prussia [now Szczecin, Zachodniopomorskie, Poland]. She was married to Peter the Great. She died on 17 November 1796 in St. Petersburg, Russian Empire [now Russia].
- Son of a vicar. Studied theology, philosophy and medicine. First writings 1747 (poems, stories and first dramas). Moved to Berlin 1748 to live as a critic for the Berlinische Privelegierte Zeitung. Writer of famous plays including Nathan, der Weise (1779) and Minna von Barnhelm (1767).

Antonio Francisco Javier José Soler y Ramos, also known as Father Antonio Soler was a Spanish composer, harpsichordist, organist and musicologist of late Baroque and early Classicism. He is known for having made an important contribution to the repertoire of keyboard music and baroque concert with his quintets, organ concerts and concerts for violin and viola.
Soler is considered one of the most important representatives of the school of keyboard music of the eighteenth century, current driven in Spain by Domenico Scarlatti.- Music Department
