Thapanee Loosuwan

Thapanee Loosuwan, a female Thai director and writer, was born in Bangkok and raised in Northeastern Thailand. She studied filmmaking at Silpakorn University in Bangkok. After graduating, Thapanee worked as a freelance scriptwriter for the influential Thai entertainment company Nadao Bangkok. In the past 5 years, she has expanded her work to include writing for feature films, television series, and commercials. In 2019, she received the Best Script Award from Thailand's Ministry of Culture.

Thapanee's debut feature film, Blue Again, gained international acclaim in 2022 with its world premiere in the New Currents award section at the 27th Busan International Film Festival. In 2023, it won the Luna de Valencia award for Best Feature Film at the Valencia International Film Festival Cinema Jove. The film also won several awards in Thailand, including Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actress at the Thai National Film Awards in 2023.
