Ben Bigelow's screenplay The Desert was a 2019 Academy Nicholl Fellowship Semifinalist and one of the top 50 highest rated scripts out of 7,305 entrants. The script is based on a short film he directed of the same name, which played numerous festivals around the world. He recently directed a feature horror/period film titled Thine Ears Shall Bleed.
Ben comes from a career in the visual arts with a practice combining video-installation, sculpture, performance and sound. He has participated in over fifty art exhibitions at venues including the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Originally from Los Angeles, he lives in the Catskill Mountains north of New York City.
