After graduating with a degree in fine arts from Fontbonne College in St. Louis, B-Phlat traveled to Philadelphia to take Master's degree in Business and Arts Administration at Drexel University. She worked as a marketing director for one of Philadelphia's largest law firms. An art major, she was studying business and arts administration, with the goal of becoming a museum curator.
