Jill Bugbee has over 22 years of professional experience as a project manager, and over 20 years as a film / video producer, production manager, development executive, writer, small business owner, and sales & marketing director.
During her graduate studies at USC in Los Angeles, she worked as a lead engineer for the Alfred E. Mann Institute, a medical device company, developing patents in the Biomedical diagnostic sector. Her entrepreneurial spirit has led her to explore her own intellectual properties, and form several companies with her husband Eric Bugbee.
As co-owner / executive producer of Blue Trail Entertainment since 2004, she has worked with clients to implement effective marketing strategies, and has produced and managed more than 750 productions, including serving as line producer and casting producer on 22 regional TV commercial spots for Walmart as a part of their national LBC campaign, which won an Effie Award for "Most Effective National Retail Marketing Campaign".
She worked on her first independent film Heroes of Dirt (2015, PG-13) as principal producer, line producer, UPM, EP and co-writer. The mentorship-themed movie was listed in the "75 Movies to Watch" in Fall 2015 by Vulture/NY Magazine, along with big titles like "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", "Spectre" and "The Martian". She raised equity for the film from private investors and companies, and managed the film's budget, scheduling and production. She was also responsible in navigating through the marketing and distribution arena, working with various distributors and sales agents across multiple platforms. Currently, she is developing several features and TV show projects with Eric in what she coined as RIFF (redemptive, inspirational, family or faith) content in various genres.
Recently, she and Eric founded FilmBusters Academy, aiming to become the #1 mentorship and training program for aspiring Christian storytellers and filmmakers. On a frequent basis, they bring in film industry leaders and professionals as guest speakers to share with their students throughout the world.
Jill is also co-founder / executive director of Arise & Shine Arts & Entertainment (ASAE) Ministries since 2016 - a nonprofit Christian ministry aimed at helping and inspiring Christian emerging artists, creatives and leaders involved in Arts and Entertainment.
Jill's first authored children's book, "Fiver Finds Home", debuted March 2021 on Amazon in the #2 spot under Children's Best Inspirational category. It is highly anticipated to make children and families all over the world fall in love with the dreamy character, Fiver - the world's first blue dwarf giraffe! It is currently being developed as an animated feature film and eventually, as a TV show series.
