Aside from her artistic and entrepreneurial works, Patty believes strongly in giving back to her community. In 2011 she co-created the Chris & Pat Cowden Fund, a scholarship for Métis students wishing to attend post secondary education in Alberta. For more than ten years, the charity has raised thousands of dollars to provide educational opportunities for Canada's indigenous youth. Patty was subsequently nominated to be the Star of Alberta recipient for her strong community service and leadership.
