Amanda, also known as Ace, is a nonbinary writer whose passion lies in telling immersive, emotive, and inclusive stories, especially fantasies and period pieces featuring strong central femme and queer characters. They have lived, studied, and travelled extensively throughout the US, Canada, and Europe, which heavily influences their work. Having survived living between the binaries that attempted to destroy them, their writing explores this liminality and exposes long-forgotten and purposefully erased narratives.
They have attended writing programs at the University of Cambridge, Arcadia University London, UCLA, and Chapman University. In 2016, Amanda graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Writing for Film and Television from Emerson College.
Their original drama pilot, Year Without Summer, placed as a Top Ten Finalist in Final Draft's Big Break Competition; as a Semifinalist in both ScreenCraft's Screenwriting Fellowship and WeScreenplay's Diverse Voices Contest; and as a Second Rounder in the AMC One Hour Pilot division at the Austin Film Festival.
Their pilot script, Rhiannon, placed as a Quarterfinalist in ScreenCraft's Pilot Launch TV Script Contest and as a Semifinalist in the Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition .
They also co-wrote a short WWI period piece called Sapper Smith that won Best Student Short Film at the Edinburgh Independent Film Awards.
