Sadie Duarte is a Spanish film director, producer, writer/screenwriter, translator, teacher and freelance journalist who has won 11 literary and academic awards and more than 105 awards for her movies. She holds a BA in English Studies, an MA in Hollywood and British Cinema and a Master in Film Direction and Production of TV Shows. Years ago, Sadie Duarte wrote her first screenplay titled Bluebell Valley and while working as an extra for a comic TV show in Spain, had a fiction novel for YA published: "Alas para Soñar" (Wings to Dream).In 2013, Libros Certeza published Sadie's second novel for YA, Souls of Fire (Almas De Fuego) in English and Spanish, an illustrated fantasy novel designed and created by herself. Later on that year, Sadie also translated into Spanish author Ia Uaro's novel Sydney's Song (La Canción De Sydney). Working as a teacher, translator and freelance journalist, Sadie Duarte has written reviews, articles and interviews for several magazines like Punk Globe in Los Angeles (USA) and FilmArte in Spain. DMus (2015) is Sadie Duarte's first short musical film as a screenwriter, producer and director, a promotional movie to promote independent artists which, apart from having some private screenings in Madrid and Zaragoza (Spain), was selected and screened at the Kastav Film Festival in Croatia and several other festivals from different countries. DMUS is an award-winning musical film which has received 19 awards. In 2016, Sadie Duarte directed, write and produced the music video So Far by British songwriter Daniel Angelus and the short film Maybe Someday (Quizás Un Día) which was released in 2017 and has also received a few awards. In May 2017, Sadie Duarte also wrote the short comedy film Blown Away (Enchufados) which started the festival circuit in November 2017. Up to March 2019 Sadie's movies had already received 41 international awards. Sadie Duarte's fourth movie is Cuando la Música Deja de Sonar (2019) - (When the Music Stops Playing is the title in English). This movie was first screened on March 23rd 2019 at the IMDB qualifying festival Sunny Side Up Film Festival in Ardmore, Oklahoma (USA) and up to February 2022 has received 34 international awards. The Lights of Dawn started the festival circuit in February 2021 and has received 29 international awards so far. Sadie Duarte's new musical movie, Between Here and Gone (Aquí y Más Allá) will be touring the world very soon.
