Malcolm Joor was born in Greenville, Mississippi. His father, Sherman Joor, worked as a limousine driver in Las Vegas and a professional cook from Mississippi, and his mother, Betty (Smith), is a twin and carpet maker from Mississippi. Malcolm started writing fictional stories when he was nine years of age in his third grade year of school. His Teacher Mrs. Johnson who taught him at Elm Boyd elementary at the time, loved Malcolm's stories so much she exempt him from daily class to allow him time to write her more stories.
Despite falling in love with drawing in his first grade year, Malcolm went on to learning to write songs, compose music, and studio engineering all by the age of sixteen. When I fell in love with cinematography and film making I knew then, I've been in training for this all my life.
Malcolm's first self released film titled "Off Da Hook" in 2007 was filmed with only a one chip camcorder became a hood sensation. Immediately taking the southeastern region by storm. Sold by every bootleg this side of the Mississippi and abroad. "Off Da Hook' with actors like music star Rich Boy from Alabama, Bigga Rankin from Florida and famous radio personality Greg Street working Atlanta GA, and Dallas TX was one of the first hood films to be released witch sparked motivation to birth many other urban film makers today.
Malcolm went on to start his own production company Amenti Creations, and partnered up to start a film company titled Muddy Water Motion Pictures, doing films like "Dear Frank" starring Claudia Jordan and Brian White, "American Bad Boy" starring Katt Williams and Obba Babatund'e, "Da First" starring Robert LaSardo and more but I haven't gotten started yet!
