Laura Poindexter is an multi-award winning, actress, producer, director, filmmaker and multi-award winning screenwriter. Originally from Harlem, New York, Laura has always had a passion for the arts. After working in the field of Human Services for 23 yrs. she decided to follow her life long passion to become a creative. Laura has worked hard to become someone to watch in the industry. Building her skills and increasing her knowledge in multiple aspects of filmmaking, she has been awarded a total of forty-four times. Her most prestigious awards include Screenwriter of The Year (2020) from the International Christian Film & Music Festival and the 2023 Best Debut Filmmaker from the Paris Lady MovieMaker Awards. Using her life experiences she seeks to act, produce and direct content of substance for a wide demographic audience.
