In his first acting role in The Dodger (2016), Luis was punched in the jaw by fellow actor Hunter Harris where Luis was not biting down on the mouth guard resulting in Luis's jaw shifting out of place. He continued with the role until the director said "Cut". Luis revealed to the director and the cast and crew of what happened and said, "I wanted to make the scene as authentic as possible. I just forgot to bite down on the mouth guard and saw stars on the way down to the canvas.".
