This short is lyrical, touching, and compassionate. You care about the characters even though there is no extended character development in a film of this length .Obviously one does not expect lots of build-up in a short film, so the trick is to make us sympathize with the characters within a matter of a few minutes.
The main character's problem is not expressly spelled out, but his chemistry with Sophy is wonderful . She is full of life and ridiculously charming, and their interactions are lovely to watch . The scenes are well-executed and I like that there are no over- caffeinated, hyperactive hand-held cameras . If you are a fan of movies made in NYC, you will enjoy the exterior shots. This film is uplifting and aimed at the heart, and it hits the mark. Well worth watching.
