I rarely write reviews (people's opinions generally being worth so little) but I had to take a moment to review this title.
We don't get many opportunities to check out art like this, ...from our computers or even our mobile devices, wherever and whenever we like - and all for free!
Anima is unlike anything I've seen before.
I love modern dance, Contact Improv, etc. and find this choreography idyllic support content for Thom York's audio track. The sound design itself feels quite spontaneous and improvised - free, flowing and loosely structured. The choreography employs some very unpredictable, unprecedented movements, utilizing physical staging technics and effects not available in any traditional live dance performance venue. The lighting, visual effects, camera work, use of locations all come together to usher the viewer on an enigmatic and surreal sojourn. The destination is unimportant. Not only is it very original and refreshing in many ways, to me, it seems to relate aspects of modern life and human connections.
What an awesome gift for all of us - inspired and inspiring, flowing and kinetic.
Not offering anything obviously specific, really - perhaps a chance to be still and witness something beautiful for no other reason, than because someone has gone to great pains and expense to create it for us.
...watched and experienced it with awe, excitement and serious Gratitude
