I have seen a ton of Betty Boop cartoons recently and I must have to say that the best thing about any of them are the times when Grampy appears--which, to me, wasn't often enough. Grampy was not just adorable but his inventions were often hilarious (or sadistic as in the case of "Be Human").
In "Grampy's Indoor Outing", Betty is watching Junior*. She's promised to take him to the carnival--but suddenly it begins raining and Junior is heart-broken. So, it's Grampy to the rescue and he uses his thinking cap to come up with a wonderful time INSIDE. Grampy makes up some makeshift carnival rides and games of skill for Junior to play--all made with various household items. It's all kind of cute and the kid is pretty easy to please--and the final trick is a doozy! Plus, as I watched, I sure wish I'd had a grandfather like this!! While this is not among the best Grampy episodes, it is quite good--cute and original as well as well worth your time.
