El seminarista

I have seen several Pedro Infante films and would consider this one about average. As usual, the popular Infante contrives ways to sing throughout the film and as usual, women find him charming and hard to resist. Now this is tough, as Infante plays Miguel, a seminary student who is soon to be ordained a priest!

The film finds Miguel and his friend/manservant arriving in Miguel's home town. Miguel has been gone many years and when he returns he barely recognizes the place. As for the women of the town, they are drawn to him like rats to cheese--which is a serious problem because Miguel is assigned, temporarily, to work at the local girls school! These not so young ladies are all infatuated with him and offer Miguel lots of temptation. At the same time, Miguel's VERY worldly uncle encourages the young man to sample life's pleasures. So what's to happen to this nice, very Catholic young man?

As usual, Infante does just fine in his role and there's nothing objectionable or particularly exciting about this film. I'd say it's pretty much an amiable time-passer and not much more.
