I saw this movie in the 70's when I was a little girl and loved it. I am now going through my old LP's and found the soundtrack. It is still wonderful to listen to, and I don't understand a thing they are saying.
It is basically about a self-assured farm girl who is wooed through song by a farm boy. However, some urban boys (singing some hilarious 60's pop/rock n roll) try to get her their way. To some ears, the high-pitch women's voice can take some getting a bit of used to but the singing is quite good.
I saw a similar film around the same time, but it was farm girl versus the mean landowners - most likely generated by the Communist party. It was still very entertaining.
